Cliqtech partners with financial services start-up, Metropolitan GetUp to provide Wills for young adults.

Johannesburg, 19th July 2021

Cliqtech has announced a partnership with Metropolitan GetUp to offer young adults in South Africa customised Wills on the Metropolitan GetUp online portal, www.metgetup.co.za.

As a Fid-tech, Cliqtech provides white-labelled, customised Wills, estate planning and insurance delivery platforms to companies to plug into and use in real-time, with relevant products and services to scale their business quickly.

“Smart partnerships are critical in the digitally led economies of the future and it’s something that we actively prioritise at Cliqtech. We believe the partnership with Metropolitan GetUp is another innovative avenue to offer high quality and affordable fiduciary services to an underserved mass market. We are thrilled that Metropolitan GetUp has chosen Cliqtech as their Fid-tech partner and we look forward to a longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship into the future,”
said CEO of Cliqtech, Zale Hechter.

SABC News interviews Zale Hechter about the Metropolitan GetUp partnership.

Cliqtech’s partnership with Metropolitan GetUp allows customers to create personalised online Wills through an intuitive platform powered by Cliqtech.

The partnership has brought together two parties with a common goal – to provide South Africans with watertight, valid Wills. The two businesses are complementary: GetUp considers clients’ protection needs, like Wills, and Cliqtech – as Wills and Estate experts – offers superior service in the drafting and execution of Wills.

“Metropolitan GetUp and Cliqtech have one common goal – to get Wills into the hands of as many South African young adults as possible. Wills should not be something exclusive but as an essential part of anyone’s financial plan. If we can help every single South African young adult acquire a Will, we would have done our job,”
said Liezel Gordon, Client Engagement Team Lead at GetUp.

An adequately drafted Will holds many benefits. These benefits include removing any delays in winding up an estate, saving thousands of Rands in professional fees, and ensuring that one is not at the mercy of Intestate Succession.

Adulting is hard. We exist to make it easier with fiduciary solutions to help South African youth handle their money like a boss. We want to encourage the youth to think about protecting themselves, their loved ones and those that depend on them. As much as financial planning is crucial when one is alive, a Will is a critical plan to have in place for when one is no longer here,” explained Gordon.

Clients benefit from signing up for a GetUp Will that offers a holistic protection plan with access to affordable and easy-to-understand professional fiduciary services. While a user completes a Will in their own time and space, they also have access to expert legal advice at the click of a button.

“Having a will isn’t only for those who can ‘afford’ it or who have an expansive estate with lots of assets to secure but rather it is for, and should be made available to, every South African adult regardless of their background,”
says Hechter.

GetUp officially launched in 2019 and is a fast scaling business within the Metropolitan group. They have value-added services that accompany the creation of a Will, including SmartStorage. If a person’s Will is done through GetUp, it offers the collection and safe storage of a customer’s Will.
